What's a series of movies I can watch to get more understanding of how the 2 world wars (and other big world events) happened?

Documentaries have proven to be a bit boring to me so I was hoping there might be some "based on real events" movies that can give me a good understanding... Obviously some will have some fiction and drama added to it so I guess I'm looking for a big-picture story sorta thing... Or if there are documentaries that would be super interesting and easy to follow
