I had the pleasure of being a camera operator on Pee-Wee's Big Holiday. It was a wonderful shoot with a wonderful crew. I knew Paul was cool when he asked his assistants to take photos of every crew member and create a yearbook of sorts with everyone's name and birth date. In one week, he had memorized every face, name, and birthday of the crew and called us all by our name. Occasionally he would start a random conversion with us saying things like, "So John, how cool is it to be born on August 2nd"? Great way to break the ice or start a casual conversation. What a stand up thing to do. RIP Paul.
