Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves is one of the best blockbusters of the 90's

The costumes, real locations, real castles, score, writing, acting (except Kevin Costner) Morgan Freeman, and Alan fucking Rickman in possibly his finest role. So much fire and flames. It's just such a gorgeous medieval movie. It's gritty and violent and it really spooked me as a kid. It gets a lot of flack for Kevin Costner, who IS a good actor, but was the worst choice ever for Robin Hood. He's got a mullet and he just plays it as an American, but everything else about the movie is so good that it totally rebounds. The movie honestly does a really good job of portraying medieval England. People actually look dirty, clothes are worn and characters are missing teeth and other body parts. This isn't your Game Of Thrones where it's supposed to be medieval times, but everyone looks like they just got out of the chair at the salon. It also has that cheeky, early 90's comic relief and I believe the movie breaks the 4th wall at least twice. Really odd that was once a trend. There's one attempted rape scene that I wish they would have cut out of the movie. It aged terribly. Someone make a version of this movie without that one part please! Anyway. Go watch this movie if you've never seen it.
