Looking for not so/as well known 3 hr movies

I'd like to watch some epics. Nothing like a good 2 or 3 disc movie with popcorn and candy and soda. Something that consumes the night . Something I can get absorbed in. Something that will be a discussion tomorrow. Romance, comedy, time piece, action, adventure, horror....I like it all. It can modern master piece with all the bells and whistles or a silverscreen hey day where all the had to rely on is good ol acting and story telling. It doesn't have to be 3 hrs exactly......but atleast around there or longer. Please and thanks for recommendations
