Judith Hoag is still the best April O'Neill of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movie franchise. She was in the first movie and then left but her take on April remains unforgettable. Why did she leave?

I love Judith Hoag's April. It's actually the only version of the character where she's as much of the lead as the Turtles, the other versions leaned more supporting.

Also, Hoag gave April a sense of humor and a lot of spunk. She wasn't just the hot reporter helping out. She had a personality, she helped out the turtles when necessary, had great chemistry with Elias Koteas' Casey Jones and was very much a character whom we rooted for.

Paige Turco was okay but it just felt like her take on April was less relevant and Megan Fox was pretty much the hot chick. Nothing cool or groundbreaking.

Through the years, I've heard rumors. I think Hoag said she felt the first movie was too violent but I'm unsure if she really said that.

Either way, while she did leave, nobody made a bettr April than Judith Hoag, in my mind.
