Bertrand Bonello's "Nocturama" (2016)

Bertrand Bonello has one of the most intriguing and well-crafted careers, but is little known here in the U.S. While I'm a fan of several of his movies, there's no question that Nocturama is his most accessible, hits the hardest, and has a patient, dark power unlike pretty much any other movie.

For those who ask about sort of neo-noir, well directed, compelling, dark things. You know: the folks who just saw "Nightcrawler" (oh, please.) and or Tenet (eh. fine) Prisoners (very good) or Collateral (masterpiece) and want to know what other movies could possibly exist that are both artful and enjoyable? Well. Allow me to offer this lil' ditty.

Bad-ass movie.
