I recently discovered these deleted scenes from "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”, they’re actually quite interesting 🤔
I personally am a fan of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World movies, I read both the original books in school and watched all three of the movies as a kid!I loved the Netflix show Camp Cretaceous & the Lego game/Jurassic World: Evolution 1&2 but that's not the point of the post.
To give a little history/context, I was looking forward to "Jurassic World 2" & was hyped when it was announced! It was detailed in several interviews with J.A. Bayona that while the first half of the movie was gonna be more adventure themed the second half was gonna be straight up horror based with lots of Gothic elements added to it, but it would also contain lots of intense and suspenseful moments. Which was described as being much darker than what we got in The Lost World: Jurassic Park & Jurassic World.
But re-watching the movie I feel it was lacking lots of this stuff they were hyping up. Sure there was a gothic influence here & there, not to mention lots of gruesome death scenes. But the lack of blood in said scenes was just weird to me. It almost feels like Universal was censoring the movie for kids, because there was quite a lot of blood shown in Jurassic World & even the original three Jurassic Park films. Although I was surprised to learn that there were quite a lot of deleted scenes from the movie. Most of them revolved around the "Indoraptor" Dinosaurs hybrid. Although they were also incredibly disturbing & dark to say the least. We don't have much footage of them, only images & concept art really. Along with just how they're described, anyways the scenes are the following:
-
The First actually acted as foreshadowing for the death of the character "Wheatley" (the guy who collected the dinosaurs teeth); basically when Eli was presenting the Indoraptor project to Toby Jones's character in the movie why the animals cage was so dark, he said that at one point it had a light, but at some point the light bulb went out. So they sedated the animal & sent in a technician to repair the light. Unfortunately that same technician never made it out alive, he was killed & eaten alive by the creature. They later found it broke the light intentionally & that it took 3 darts to sedate the animal, whereas when Wheatley sedated it he only used 2 darts. Which ultimately led to his death. The scene actually had some concept art for it made & was shot apparently based on some concept art & images/footage of it: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EJ7DPQNXUAA8yK4?format=jpg&name=large, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EJ7DPQOXYAAcZZ_?format=jpg&name=small

The second deleted scene I wanted to mention involved the death of Masie's mother figure & Nanny Iris, basically she would have returned to the mansion to save her. But unfortunately she came back at the wrong time, while the Indoraptor was chasing her around the house. Unfortunately it found her & cornered them where Iris then would have told Maisie to run away while he tried to fight off the animal with a fire poker, unfortunately she wouldn't make it out alive https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EbS82q5X0AA9KbY?format=jpg&name=large And apparently in an early draft of the script that included this scene Bryce Dallas Howard's character Claire would have found the Nanny "Iris" dying on the floor after being mauled and attacked by the Indoraptor, where Iris would have shown her the photograph of Charlotte Lockwood (Lockwood's granddaughter who died) to show that she was a human clone. She then would tell her that she needs to take care of her & protect her, like she had done previously as both Charlotte & Maisie's mother figure.

The finale deleted scene from Fallen Kingdom would have shown the Indoraptor being a victim of physical abuse by the “employees” Eli hired to work in the laboratory. Apparently while some guys were eating food together one of them decided to mess around with the animal while it was in its cage & went up to mess around with it, by basically dangling his sandwich I’m front of the animal.
-
The animal would have then reached out its hand towards the guy’s sandwich, where this same guy would have then grabbed a cattle prod & shocked it excessively. The animal would have then whimpered away in pain after this happened where the guy who shocked it smiles & laughs at it after seemingly getting enjoyment from watching it be in pain for his amusement.
-
But then we would have seen the animal smile at the guy, which would have caused the guy to freak out & walk away. Basically showing that the animal smiling while it kills Wheatley wasn’t meant to be “cartoonish” & stupid like what people think, but rather that it was mimicking behavior from the people abusing it, it also gives it a motivation for why it hates humans so much seemingly as they caused it nothing but endless psychological damage & physical abuse.
Personally I really wish this had been kept in the movie as some of these scenes do help flesh out the Indoraptor as an antagonist & would have fit into the movies overall theme on animal rights & animal abuse/exploitation that was covered in the last movie with the Indominus Rex.
Edit 1: BTW I'm unsure if this counts as deleted scenes or not, but originally the Indoraptor's design was actually gonna look more gruesome & deformed than what we got in the finale film: https://jurassic-pedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/indoraptor_harmful_mutations.png I personally would have liked if it looked more akin tho this personally, maybe a mix between the final design and this concept art. I feel it would make sense as he's presented as being a "failed experiment" of sorts that barely survived incubation/infancy. Being viewed as a prototype for what they wanted to be a finalized killing machine. Not to mention it fits into the whole inspiration of the creature, as it was partly inspired by the classic Universal Monsters from the 1930s-1950s.
