Catherine Keener doesn't get enough credit for The 40-Year-Old Virgin

The 40-Year-Old Virgin was a star-making vehicle for Steve Carell and has stellar support from so many great actors from Paul Rudd to Jane Lynch. Got a lot of them before they got big, too. Even jonah Hill has a cameo.

But Catherine Keener doesn't get the kudos she deserves. The love interest is often a dull foil and the role of Trish could have been boring, but Keener is great in it. Sexy, flustered, tough, endearing, perfect playing againt Carell. She never upstages him but is never a pushover. She's vital to how good that movie is.

I was just thinking about her delivery of "you weren't a mistake, you sister was the mistake." Just golden. It's a great performance.
