My favourite is the first time we see a ringwraith in the Two Towers. Because of the Fellowship of the Ring, we're primed to think we'll continue seeing the rigntwraiths on horses. In the Two Towers, you get a a shot the ringwraith's hands tightening on a set of reigns, then, a shot of his face, and then the camera pulls out to reveal that he is, in fact, flying on the back of a fell beast, able to cover way more ground than before.
