Panic Room is such an amazing thriller

Before my rewatch, I've seen Panic Room only once. Granted, it was an edited for TV version and the quality wasn't the best but ever since that initial viewing, I've always thought Panic Room to be one of David Fincher's lesser movies.

I couldn't have been more wrong. Panic Room is one of the most entertaining thrillers I have ever seen. Combine that with Finhcer's immaculate direction and subperb performances. I now adore this movie.

For me, the best part of the movie are the three burglars. Forest Whitaker, Jared Leto, and Dwight Yoakam just knock it out the park. Seeing these guys work off each other and react to the situation around them was gold. One little moment I like is when Jodie Foster is taking out all the security cameras with a sledgehammer and Yoakam remarks: "Why didn't we think of that?"

This trio works so well due to how each burglar is characterized. I love how sympathetic and conflicted Whitaker is. I love how boastful and quick to anger Leto is. I especially love how coldblooded Dwight Yoakam is. For me, he stole the movie. It's also funny saying that considering Dwight Yoakam is a country singer.

Finally, why is this this movie STILL not on Blu-Ray? I remember watching Chris Stuckmann's review of the movie back in 2014 where he pointed it out. It's 2022 and there's still no release. WTF Sony?
