Donnie Darko

i finally got around to watching donnie darko & im upset i didn’t watch it sooner. i love that movie but i’m so confused .-. what is the clear bubble thing coming out of people’s chest? the ending? who is frank? was he real? was grandma death a time traveler? time travels role in the plot just in general???? so many questions
