I’m curious…what are your movie opinions that changed with age? What did you hate when you were younger but loved as an adult? Loved when you were young and hated as an adult?

I saw The Talented Mr. Ripely when I was around 19, 20. I just remember thinking the movie was so boring. I really didn’t understand all the hype. Fast-forward 20 years and I see the movie recommended multiple times in this sub and others. I decided to watch it again while stuck in quarantine with COVID. Wow! What a movie. Matt Damon is so damn creepy it gave me chills. I need more Matt Damon villain movies! My young mind just wasn’t ready.

One of my favorite movies as a kid was Little Monsters, with Howie Mandel and Fred Savage. My siblings and I watched it so many times. Now I have my own daughter and I was so excited when it popped up on Netflix. We watched for family movie night and I was mortified. It was so creepy (not in a good way) and disgusting. My daughter kept looking at me, asking why I making her watch this. It’s disturbing.

What movies caused you to do a 180? I’m looking for movies to revisit (or avoid).
