One of my favorite 80s films, always found this to be underrated & honestly my favorite performance from Streep. It had a pretty solid cast: Meryl Streep, Kurt Russell, Cher, Fred Ward (RIP), David Strathairn, Craig T. Nelson, Ron Silver(RIP), Charles Hallahan(RIP), Will Patton, Josef Sommer, Bruce McGill, M. Emmet Walsh(RIP), Diana Scarwid among others. To this day, Streep's version of Amazing Grace remains one of my favorites. It's such a tragic true story. After Fred Ward's passing, his joke from this film and his Tremors character Earl Bassett were the first two things that came to mind. I loved him as Remo though.
