I just watched this movie again recently after not having seen it for awhile, and honestly forgot how good it is.
You have Christopher Walken giving one of the best performances of his career as cold blooded kingpin Frank White. Victor Argo playing opposite him as the grizzled NY cop who's over this shit. And then you have the supporting cast which is loaded with talent, such as David Caruso, Wesley Snipes, Laurence Fishburne, and a young Giancarlo Esposito.
This movie does a great job of capturing that late 80's, early 90's grungy drug addled NY city. It's also a great example of how no one wins in the drug game, as evidenced by the terrific ending. Oh, and the soundtrack is the shit, too.
