TCM Needs to Ditch Fathom Events for Their Big Screen Classics Series

We are witnessing the recent outrage over the poor quality presentation of John Carpenter's The Thing, as botched by Fathom Events. This is old news to those of us who attend, or like me, no longer attend TCM's Big Screen Classics series.

For much of the country, this is the only way to see classic films at all, and recent screenings of films such as The Wizard of Oz and It's a Wonderful Life have been shown cropped, at a 1.85:1 ratio, resulting in some stupid framing with Jimmy Stewart's head cut off.

As far as I'm concerned, TCM is a treasure, and they shouldn't allow their brand to be associated with the dreadful quality of Fathom's use of low grade streaming. Maybe if enough people speak up, they'll fix it. Here's a link to drop a complaint:
