Favorite documentary most people have never heard of?

Seeking great documentaries that aren’t necessarily popular, or didn’t sound particularly interesting to you at first.

The subject doesn’t matter as much as whether they tell an interesting story, or teach me something I would otherwise never be exposed to, especially about society or subcultures.

Some favorites offhand (will cross post to TV as well):

  • Spellbound (2002)

  • Sasquatch (2021 series)

  • Betting on Zero (2016)

  • Wild Wild Country (2018 series)

  • The Keepers (2017 series)

  • The Dawn Wall (2017)

  • Attica (2021)

  • Crip Camp (2020)

  • The Overnighters (2014)
