Headhunters (2011) is a damn good thriller.

If you like a good adaptation, while also being entertained as a man goes through Hell and back, being in what feels like a conspiration against himself, this might be for you. It's based on Jo Nesbø's novel of the same name, and it follows it pretty closely. (If that's name's familiar, he's behind the Harry Hole books. Remember the farce that was the movie version of The Snowman?)

Roger Brown (yes, he's named that as a Norwegian) is a headhunter with a pitch perfect life in his way too fancy villa and wife. Oh, and he's an art thief to still have some economy. She wants an art gallery, meaning he has to get... art. When they find the perfect heist within a client, Roger does what he needs to. But during the heist something throws him for a curvball, and he has to stay alive for better or worse...

The movie is as short as the book. (A little over 90 minutes and 200 pages.) And wastes no time with a lightning fast pace, and twists and turns that keep you guessing. Yes, there's some questionable logic in certain parts, including an ungodly fast tractor, but Aksel Hennie's strong performance as Roger slowly descending into madness, and the sometimes really brutal action keep you excited and thrilled.

If you haven't seen it, do it. If you have, give it a rewatch. It's a 90 minute ride flying by.
