Where does BlankMan fall on the spectrum?

I was re watching a old favorite from my childhood, the movie BlankMan. Was fun watching it over again but as a adult the protagonist who before seemed just whacky now reminds me heavily of the autistic children I've looked after. It made me wonder if brighter minds have done any sort of evaluation of the character before. Im very curious for no particular reason.
