As the title says. What remakes are out there that are just as good as the original or better even? It doesn’t even have to be a remake. It could be another adaptation that simply adapted the source material better than the “original” did.
One of the obvious examples would be The Magnificent Seven. I’d say the 60’s American remake is on par with the original Seven Samurai.
As for adaptations. John Carpenter’s version of The Thing is my all time favorite movie. It definitely isn’t a remake of the 50’s version, but both are adaptations of the same story that have different takes.
