Times a cameo or small role instantly catapulted someone to a highly successful career?

For instance, John Cena essentially took a cameo role in an Amy Schumer movie and hit it out the park so much that he was suddenly cast in a bunch of other stuff and now has a highly successful career.

Before that, he was just doing straight to DVD WWE movies and it seemed like any chance of him becoming successful in “real” movies was gone. Overnight though suddenly he was stealing the show in comedies full of established talent (Trainwreck, Sisters, Daddy’s Home, Tour de Pharmacy). Doug Liman cast him in a more serious role (The Wall) and he did well there too. Then he proved that his own starring vehicles could be successful (Ferdinand, Blockers, Playing With Fire). Roles in big franchises followed (Bumblebee, F9). Was one of the highlights of Suicide Squad and got his own spinoff on HBO. Has another movie out this week (Vacation Friends) and is currently filming Argylle with a stacked cast including Sam Jackson, Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston and Catherine O’Hara.

In the space of 5 years he’s went from wrestler/meme to sought after Hollywood star and none of it may have happened if he wasn’t cast as Amy Schumer’s boyfriend who looked like Mark Whalberg ate Mark Whalberg.
