Pleasantly surprised by The Protégé

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt6079772/

All I knew was that Samuel L Jackson was in this, but Maggie Q was awesome and Keaton continues his Neeson-esque resurgence.

Pretty solid plotting, relatively derivative story, but there's not a ton of originality that can be pumped into the genre anymore so I give it a pass.

The violence is satisfyingly brutal and well choreographed and the whole movie is shot well. (This made sense when I discovered that Martin Campbell directed).

Definitely a solid action popcorner that I was not expecting to enjoy as much as I did.
