What's your best movie trilogy of all time? Why do you think it's the best movie trilogy? Few of the all time great movie trilogies in my opinion are; Star Wars (original) trilogy, Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Godfather trilogy. Characteristics of a great trilogy (in my opinion) are when 2nd and 3rd movies are better (or equally good) than first. How well the overarching story progressed throughout the trilogy. How they hold up overtime. Impact to pop culture. Awards recognition, etc.
