Why do they do this in movies?

Two things:

1. When the time has come to show affection between characters, so many times there is this unnatural caressing of a person’s face with the back of a hand. Who in the hell does that irl?

2. Spitting. When a character spits, it is never real spit, even if they are just ‘spitting’ on the ground. It sounds like they have a piece of hair or something in their mouth. It’s totally unnatural.

Anyway, has anyone else had these thoughts?
