I love that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) continues to generate crazy theories to this day.

Just saw this post about Augustus being innocen and it brought back all the theories.

There are just so many theories and deep takes that people keep coming up with, even 50 years after the movie came out.

Willy Wonka orchestrated the demise of all the contestants. Why? Either because he's some sadistic childkiller who just wanted to make victims (and charlie was supposed to die on that fan but escaped) or because he had decided Charlie should win from the beginning (he had slugworth follow him around), and rigged the game. THERE WAS NO SEAT FOR AUGUSTUS IN THAT BOAT!

Grandpa Joe is evil: This one is self explanatory, the dude was an asshole who exploited his family and what the heck, probably a war criminal too. Fuck Grandpa Joe

Its a prequel to Snowpiercer: This one is obviously true.

Of course most of these are tongue and cheek and not meant to be taken seriously, but it shows some deep apreciation for that fantastical, bizarre, creepy, weird, willy wonka is a serial killer of a movie.
