Meet Joe Black Is Perfect

Finished watching this again. Still blows me away to this day & remains one of my favorite movies ever. Largely misunderstood IMO.

Everything on a technical level is basically perfect — Chivo’s cinematography, extravagant production design & Thomas Newman’s unreal score.

The performances are also great. I don’t agree with the Brad Pitt slander & its a shame Claire Forlani didn’t blow up after delivering the goods.

As far as the length of the film.. it’s got some GIRTH. I’m obviously in the minority, but I love how Brest draws out each character moment & let’s it marinate.

It’s also cool to see a studio like Universal greenlight a 3 hour original Romance/Drama/Fantasy hybrid film & release it in theaters. Super ballsy.
