I really love film details and easter eggs. They tend to add an unnecessary but fun depth, like all the Pixar easter eggs referencing other Pixar films and people.
But is there a film where the details are the point? Like without solving the puzzles the plot is ultra bland or nonexistent.
For example, the main character's name is never stated but they sporadically mention US states they visited in casual conversation and putting the first letter of each state in order reveals their name. Something like that.
