The Little Things - HBO Max

Oh, man. What a disappointment. When one watches a Denzel Washington film, there is a certain quality expected. This is a testament to his remarkable skill as an actor and his spectacular career. As I watched The Little Things, my thoughts proceeded, as such:

Opening – “This is going to be great!”

Midway – “This is good, but this isn’t Denzel good.”

Third Act – “What a turkey.” (Rami Malek’s character engages is behavior too dumb to believe.)

The acting was hit and miss. Denzel gave a good performance, as usual. Leto gave an acceptable performance. Malek, however, didn’t fare as well. There was something “off”. He delivers his lines in such a dramatic, monotone way - which is an oxymoron, but you’ll pick up on it when you watch. There were also a couple of scenes in which he had outbursts of anger that just didn’t play well. Lastly, a lot of close-ups in which his facial expression was just bizarre.

This was a waste of two hours. Surprising, I know, because, Denzel!
