I know it's already been said, but damn it, I'm gonna say it again, Peter Jackson's King Kong is a masterpiece.

After LOTR, Peter Jackson created a reputation for himself as one of the best film makers out there, so his follow up film was going to be a monumental task.

And then he delivers King Kong. Her took a classic monster movie and made it his own. Kong has always been knows as a giant ape that walks upright. PJ decided to go agaisnt the grain and make a 50ft silverback gorilla. A delivered.

The cinematography is amazing, SFX are on point, and that soundtrack. Damn.

Also, the minutes leading up to King's death and freaking heartbreaking. It would almost bring a tear to a grown man's eye.

I just wanted to take a minute to appreciate this masterpiece with the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong film coming out.

Time for a rewatch me thinks!

Edit: also want to mention that Jack Black was fantastic in this film. Really shows that he can do just more than comedies.
