Lockdown needs sci-fi movies. Just rewatched Sunshine and loved it

Admittedly, I've had a couple of rums. But I've fallen in love with Sunshine. This film has a great premise and an all star cast, even if they weren't the bees knees at the time. Cap America himself is excellent in this, arguably the most sensible of the group, you almost wish they'd listened to him. But how could you against Cillian Murphy's Kappa? The calm and collected physicist, innocently logical and basing decisions on the same foundations of the entire mission. Science.

I know there's a wide hate for the latter third of this film but I think this is really where it shines (no pun intended). Turning a technical science fiction journey into a momentary horror is brilliant. As if there wasn't enough pressure already.

I dare anyone to say that the computer acknowledging an unknown crew member is not a great bit of horror in an otherwise horror-less film and to me this is not a downfall.

In the first ten minutes this film makes you realise just how immensely powerful the sun is and from there shows you just how crazy people can get in the presence of something greater than themselves.

This is just rum filled ramblings but good God I'm having a great time watching this film.
