Yes he’s done some pretty bad things, but besides that it seems everyone over the years just started bashing the film, saying it was overrated, and too pretentious. The first time I saw it I was complete floored how such a small almost sitcom level plot captivated me. All of the acting was top notch, the music was so engrossing, and it was unlike so many other best picture winners that decade. Set in the present. I’ve rewatched it so many times and It’s still honestly in my top 5 films of all time.
