The Return of Jafar (1994) did something special

Its Iago's film, not Aladdin's.

For a straight-to-dvd disney sequel, this film did an amazing work on Iago's characterization and redemption arc. It never feels like a different Iago from the first film, as by all intents and purposes he is still selfish and deceitful, but they managed to pull a 180 on him without feeling cheap or rushed.

I am not saying the film is good, its a pale shadow to the original, but what attention and care they gave Iago was more than it needed to be for a cheap dvd sequel and made the film an enjoyable watch to say the least.
