The 1990 film 'Ghost' is an outstanding genre bending film that hits every beat perfectly with it's casting, writing and pacing.
I saw snippets of 'Ghost' on TV as a kid, but never saw the full film until now, and holy shit. This movie is incredible!
The casting is just perfect. Patrick Swazye, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, and Tony Goldwyn all hit their marks and each one knocks their performance out of the park (Also, shoutout to Vincent Schiavelli as the "GET OFF MY TRAIN" ghost.)
The music is fantastic as well, which was composed by Lawrence Of Arabia composer, Maurice Jarre.
The one thing about the film that blew my mind was the director, Jerry Zucker.
Yes, the man that wrote and directed Airplane!, Top Secret, and The Naked Gun, gets out of his comfort zone and shows Hollywood he can do dramatic films as well.
I was only a baby when the film came out in 1990, but it must've been amazing to for a film like 'Ghost', which was made for $22 million, gross $500 million at the box office, and was the third highest grossing film of all time at that point behind E.T. and Star Wars.
Definitely a film worth checking out!!
