Cops in horror movies are notorious for being terrible at their jobs; what movie has the worst/dumbest police?

My vote is Sgt. Parker in Nightmare on Elm Street.

Lt. Thompson tells him:

Go outside and watch my daughter's house. If you see anything funny, call me.

[about 5 minutes later his daughter proceeds to break almost every window in the house while screaming bloody murder and yelling for help]

Sgt. Parker proceeds to respond to her by saying:

Everything is gonna be alright! Everything is under control!

[2 minutes later, his daughter breaks the only window that hasn't been shattered yet and screams for help again]

Sgt. Parker:

Eh, maybe I better go tell the Lieutenant
