The Jungle Book (1994) was such a solid movie and had so many actors either in their prime or starting their careers.

The cast included Jason Scott Lee, Cary Elwes, Lena Headey, Sam Neill, John Cleese, Faran Tahir, Ron Donachie, and in his first role Jason Flemyng. It flipped the story a little with Mowgli as an adult, the animals don't talk, and the villains are the greedy imperialist soldiers and the poachers. I went back and watched it a year or so ago after not having seen it in probably 15 years or more. Is it a faithful adaption to the classic novel? Certainly not, but it is enjoyable and decided to add a little adventure to the story. I am also kind of glad they chose to age the character up rather than have another young Mowgli learns to live in the jungle story. We see some of it, but then cut to 20 years later where he is another predator of the jungle rather than the man-cub. It has a bit of the Tarzan flair with the lost man learning to be civilized, but I won't knock it because it probably helped get Disney's Tarzan made.

Also the actors were cast so well. Lee has so much fun in his role but can still bring the emotions. Elwes plays an excellent villain along with Flemyng, Donachie, and the hunters. Neill and Cleese are always on the knife edge of entertaining. And honestly, Lena Headey was so good I forgot this was the same woman who made me feel all those feels in GoT.
