What happens to the incredibly built sets like the spinning hallway in Inception after the film wraps production?

I have always been curious as to what happens to these amazing set pieces after the movie has been made. The rotating hallway from Inception was built specifically for one scene and it is huge in a gigantic warehouse. Or the paradoxical stairs. Are they destroyed afterwards or what?

I know some actors get to keep some of their wardrobe like Brad Pitt and his red jacket in Fight Club. George Lucas with the Star Wars props. Do the rest get auctioned or stored away in a vault? Various items would be worth a fortune. What happens to the sets, props, wardrobe for the entire movie after the fact?
