What are your favorite screenplays?

For me,

  1. Network - The monologues are unreal. It really predicted the future.

  2. Sunset Boulevard - A similar kind of satire, attacking celebrity culture and Hollywood. Sharp, funny, depressing, always witty, and each character serving a common theme.

  3. Harakiri - The non-linear storytelling is constantly compelling, with characters being revealed through action. Just amazing.

  4. 12 Angry Men - The way it's constantly enthralling even in just one room. Truly a remarkable feat.

  5. Sweet Smell of Success - The table scene. Need I say more? The dialogue is just so delicious.

  6. There Will Be Blood - Milkshake.
