This happened a few weeks ago on The New Pope. Somebody is talking to John Malkovich's character and they say "Y'know, you remind me of my favorite actor: John Malkovich." and John Malkovich is like "Eh. Doesn't do much for me."
This same thing also happened infamously with Julia Roberts in Oceans 12, except there it actually ends up being a major plot point of the film.
Does this trope have a name? Are there other examples? I have to imagine there are dozens...
