Name a movie where Studio Interference actually helped….

God knows there are a ton of films that could have been great but were screwed up by the producers. Maybe they thought the film was to long, to weird, to dark, whatever. And they forced the director to make changes that ultimately hurt the film. Examples include but are not limited to: Alien 3, Blade Runner, Once Upon a Time in America, Event Horizon, The Magnificent Ambersons (basically all the Welles films after Kane) Batman v Superman (and pretty much all the early DCEU film). Though that raises the question, what films were actually helped by studio interference. Exorcist 3 comes to mind. Yes the studio insisted that Blatty add an actual exorcism to the movie. And yes the exorcism scene kind of comes out of nowhere. It’s still a cool scene and was a good climax for the film. Now having scene the director’s cut of Exorcist 3 (close to it anyway) the producers were absolutely right to insist on changes. Blatty’s original version was just SO flat and lifeless. What are some other examples?
