A Quiet Place - how are birds alive?

Watching A Quiet Place for the first time in preparation for the second one coming out. In one of the scenes close to the beginning, the deaf girl knocks over a lamp, which starts a small fire. Dad puts the fire out....then before the creature comes, the subtitles say "(birds screeching and flying away)". How are birds still alive in this movie? They don't know to be quiet, and while I'm assuming things high in the sky are safe, they have to nest, have noisy chicks, make noise when they hunt or fly.

unrelated rant, the opening scenes were so dumb to me. the little boy almost gets them all killed reaching for the toy rocket on a high shelf. the deaf girl and dad both are there to witness. then dad just tells him to find mom unsupervised without thinking he might grab the rocket. he grabs the rocket again, and this time the whole family witnesses it, staring at him horrified. despite him grabbing it for a second time, the dad just takes out the batteries then puts in a table in reaching distance, and they ALL turn their back on the boy who clearly wants this loud toy and trust he won't grab it again? it is amazing they aren't all dead already. i enjoyed the movie overall though.

not sure if a spoiler tag was needed, but put one anyway in case anyone else was planning to watch for first time too
