Taxi Driver is great for so many reasons, but I could watch everyday for this reason.

I'm not going to go into detail about all of the reasons why I think Taxi Driver is great. There is so many reasons why one could watch this movie and enjoy it. It contains great performances. To say it's well directed is an understatement. It works great as a character study. We know this but for me this movie so infinitely rewatchable because of how it's shot.

There are many scenes where you just see the city of a New York from the perspective of the Taxi Driver. In a way, the movie almost feels like a time capsule of 1970's New York. As someone who loves cities and is interested in 70's New York, I can't get enough of this. The way Scorsese shoots these scenes amplifies everything too. You feel the rain outside. You feel the rain dripping off the car. You see the lights reflecting off the water. You feel the cold atmosphere all while the melodic jazz score plays in the background. In a movie that's disturbing on many levels the driving scenes are so relaxing. It seriously transports me into that world. Just observing the most famous city in the world while the score plays in the background is so satisfying.

Anybody else experience this while watching?
