I'm watching Django Unchained for the first time since it was released.

I'm really enjoying it, even though I've always thought it was one of Tarantino's weakest. Favorite line so far was when the first plantation owner is trying to explain how Django is a free man so she can't treat him like all the other slaves. So she says am I supposed to treat him like he is white? And Big Daddy is just confounded for a minute before he tells her just to treat him like the poor white trash kid who's mom works at the lumber yard in town.

You can hate this movie. And you can hate Tarantino's cinematic relationship with black America. But that line is funny as fuck and it's kind of amazing to see the race/class issue addressed in such a succinct and comedic way.
